Super Simple Formula: Dry hair shampoo

Well, I'm susceptible and I was tempted. I read various oohs and aahs on blogs and, a long time ago, I bought a dry hair shampoo. Let's face it - each of us has days when we don't have time, when suddenly someone does something and our hair cries out for vengeance. It's like that when I sleep a little longer in the morning and suddenly I have to run to kindergarten with my child and go to work, and I still had to wash my hair. And then what? Well... we take a shortcut and spray shampoo on our hair. Then, of course, we forget about them and only wash them calmly in the evening.
I took one of my drugstore shampoos and looked at the ingredients. As it turned out? Yes, it simply contains rice flour. So I read something and I have a quick, simplest, ecological, natural and all-in-all miracles solution for you - dry shampoo!
We reach for potato starch! Although the above rice or corn meal also work well. Potatoes are the easiest thing for us, so when we do, we make our lives easier!
Pour the starch into a bowl and spread a small amount over your hair. A blush brush works perfectly here, as it can be cleaned quickly. Let the starch stay on your hair for a while and then just comb or shake it out. And that's it!

Planeta Organica Moroccan hair mask + Thermo cap + competition results!

We start with the results of the competition organized with Clair Cosmetics ! An extremely nice competition, because it was a swimming competition. Which just makes me want to jump into the bathtub! Because your descriptions of the perfect bathing ritual were so evocative. Thank you very much for them!
However, we chose one winning comment!

Congratulations and please send me your shipping details to [email protected].

And now something about hair. And what a wonderful duo! Today, a shining star will appear in the main role in the form of the Planeta Organica Moroccan hair mask with argan oil . It will be accompanied by thermal caps !

I'm just discovering Russian cosmetics. It may not be a particularly good choice politically, but it must be admitted that it is cosmetically quite pleasant! And so, some time ago, I found three Planeta Organica products in my bathroom that are really worth recommending. Today I will start with the Moroccan mask.
Its appearance is not the most attractive. The swampy green mass forms a structure resembling thick mud from the same swamp. It has the word "black" in its name, which I don't really understand because it's not black. Perhaps it's about the black olive oil found in the composition. The shade of green is probably due to laurel oil, which is green by nature.
Although the appearance of the cosmetic itself may be discouraging, it has a wonderful scent. Unfortunately, I can't describe it, but it is quite intense, although not irritating. Also pay attention to the packaging. The brand's labels feature a very interesting graphic design, with a gold-colored logo. They are elegant, aesthetic and simply beautiful. The disadvantage is that almost all inscriptions are in Cyrillic, which makes it very difficult to obtain any information.
Let me quote the manufacturer:  The black Moroccan hair mask is based on the valuable properties of organic argan oil - one of the rarest and most expensive oils in the world. The oil contains a high percentage of vitamin E and F, intensively nourishes and cares for weakened hair. Organic neroli oil restores elasticity and leaves a wonderful, unique scent on the hair. Laurel oil provides natural protection against the harmful effects of the external environment and is a rich source of vitamins for the scalp and hair. Additionally, it strengthens the roots and prevents hair loss. Black olive oil contains 16 amino acids that are essential for hair and skin. Olive oil nourishes, moisturizes and immediately makes the hair soft.
Most importantly - the hair really becomes very soft! They are pleasant to the touch, do not frizz or electrify. They seem healthier. So it's worth spending these 15 minutes to keep it in your hair.
And to make this task easier for ourselves, so that nothing leaks or flows - we use thermal caps! This is just a miracle! Someone was probably fed up with putting an ordinary plastic bag on their head and designed something that makes life much easier. All you need to do is apply the mask to damp hair, then wrap the cap around your head, connect the ends, and tie the end of the cap at the back. It may look a bit strange, but in fact, water does not leak out and nutrients easily penetrate the hair. I quote: "under the influence of heat, both the pores in the skin and the hair cuticles open, which allows for the effective absorption of beneficial nutrients." Well... practical!

Culinary: Three delicious pastes

Nice thing with these pastes. They can be created and improved on the fly. Depending on the contents of the fridge. Guests are coming, and don't you just have two pieces of yesterday's cheese and some peas? Mix, decorate and interesting party snacks are ready. You can combine a lot of flavors. Add all kinds of grains and spices. Put them in bowls as dips or spread them on crackers, baguettes or toast. For breakfast for a child to whom we smuggle healthy linseed, or for an evening party. We like to eat them simply - with a spoon. Yummy!
Today I have three very simple recipes for delicious spreads for you. I hope you will like them too! Which one is best?

Peas & Black Cumin
Ingredients:
  • a can of green peas
  • a spoon of black cumin
  • spoon of olive oil
  • salt pepper
  • approx. 50g of yellow cheese
  • sprouts for garnish
Cut the cheese into smaller cubes and throw it together with the peas, olive oil and black cumin into the blender. Salt and pepper to taste. Mix for about 1-2 minutes. Serve with sprouts.

Camembert & Green Pepper
Ingredients:
  • 1 camembert
  • approx. 50g of yellow cheese
  • a spoonful of green pepper
  • a teaspoon of mustard
  • pear and tomato for garnish
Cut the cheese into smaller cubes. Grind the green pepper in a mortar. Place in a blender along with the cheese and mustard and mix as above until a uniform mass is obtained. Serve with a slice of pear and tomato, sprinkled with pepper.

Eggs & Flaxseed
Ingredients
  • 5 eggs
  • a spoonful of horseradish (can be creamy)
  • half a small onion
  • 2 tablespoons of soft butter
  • salt pepper
  • 1-2 tablespoons of linseed and some for garnish
Hard-boil the eggs, peel them and cut them into smaller pieces. Place in a blender along with butter and horseradish. Salt and pepper to taste. Mix for a short while. Cut the onion into small cubes and add it to the prepared mass together with the linseed. Mix everything thoroughly. Serve sprinkled with linseed.

2nd Spring Lili Plebiscite for the Best Natural Cosmetics - stage I, submitting cosmetics

Spring has finally arrived here. Another spring! It's high time to start the 2nd Spring Lili Plebiscite for the Best Natural Cosmetics!
Some of you probably remember last year's edition. You will find its results HERE . We managed to find real natural gems. I hope that this year you will help me find the best of the best cosmetics. Because in this plebiscite everything depends on you!

Just like last year, I would like to ask you to submit cosmetics that you consider the best and most valuable to the plebiscite. Based on your submissions and my knowledge and experience, I will select 10 products in five categories: face, body, hair, bath, as well as mother and child. These will be candidates for the title of Lili Naj 2014 .

The actual plebiscite will start at the beginning of April and will also bring a lot of surprises for you - the voters!
So please think about it and choose your favorite natural cosmetics in the categories below!

  • Face (care and makeup)
  • Body (lotions, butters, hands, feet, oils, depilation, deodorants, sunscreen, etc.)
  • Bath (bath and beauty products, including scrubs, shower gels, etc.)
  • Hair (shampoos, conditioners, masks, dyes, etc.)
  • Children (care for the youngest and young and future mothers)

You don't have to have an opinion in every category. You can send a suggestion of at least one favorite cosmetic. I am asking for the brand/producer and specific name.
Remember that these must be natural cosmetics. If you are not sure whether a given cosmetic is natural - enter it and I will try to determine it. Brands that offer natural products usually announce this (although some exaggerate). I allow the use of small amounts of unnatural products, preservatives or flavors in cosmetics. Cosmetics certainly cannot contain mineral oils, SLS and SLES, parabens, PEGs, MEA/DEA/TEA, chemical filters, and cannot be tested on animals.
I am waiting for your applications until Saturday, March 29, 2014.

Apply in the FORM BELOW - at the end of this post!

I also have a little surprise for everyone who will propose at least one natural cosmetic for the plebiscite! From among your applications, I will choose 5 people to receive Wild Earth balm straight from Nepal, sponsored by the BliskoNatury .pl store , to which we cordially invite you! You will find a huge selection of cosmetics, butters and oils, cosmetic semi-finished products and herbs.
They are waiting:

Wild Earth is dedicated to producing handmade Himalayan herbal beauty products using the finest ingredients available. These products are designed to nourish the skin and soothe, stimulate and balance the senses. The product range includes herbal soaps, scrubs and mud masks, massage oils, aromatic pillows and other products that improve well-being. The herbs used for production come from remote areas of the Himalayas, often untouched by the modern world. These are herbs selected for their proven medicinal properties, which have been proven many times since ancient times. We recommend!

I will announce the winners on the blog in April! I will wait 10 days from the announcement of the results for shipping addresses. Shipping only within Poland, and the BliskoNatury.pl store is responsible for it.
So let's get to the form! Thank you in advance and I can't wait to see the results of your submissions!

3 small changes to welcome spring

Apparently spring comes today at 5:57 p.m.! The astronomical one. There has been such a big change that it comes a day earlier than usual. Supposedly, scientists have noticed that it is on March 20, not March 21, that we will welcome the new season throughout the 21st century. That it is apparently influenced by the movements of the Earth and the gravity of other planets. Okay, that may be the case. Personally, I even prefer it to be earlier!

The day before yesterday, I was running around the estate in the evening. It was still cold, but the wind was already carrying warm air. Just like spring. One that gives us wings and makes us want to fly. And feel them in your hair. And breathe deeply. And keep running. Then I decided something that I would like to share with you. And perhaps even encourage you to make similar resolutions.

Although I don't like resolutions that much. I don't do traditional New Year's or Lent celebrations. I have problems with willpower and motivation, which is definitely not conducive to resolutions. So if I decide to do something, it must be small changes that will significantly affect me, my body and mood, but will not require much effort. The upcoming spring favors such changes. Even unconsciously we feel their need. They subconsciously penetrate our mind along with the warm wind.

However, goals must meet several basic conditions. First, they must be achievable! Real and probable. They cannot be excessive, because we will get discouraged too quickly. We need to see results in the short term. Resolutions cannot significantly impact our daily rhythm and turn our day upside down. They must enter the day as painlessly as possible. We must reward ourselves for achieving our goals. Something nice, like every week. Although the inner feeling of pride will accompany us anyway. And most importantly - achieving set goals or simply keeping resolutions must be accompanied by a positive attitude, smile, willingness and satisfaction!

My 3 changes to welcome spring are not big, but I know they will make me feel better about myself after just a few days. I will have more energy. I'll feel like it more! And I know that I can and want to keep them!

1. Juice for coffee!
I drink three cups of coffee a day. I like it and it helps me focus. In winter, it additionally warms and fills. I decided to replace one of them with a glass of carrot or tomato juice. They are thick and filling. They perfectly meet the need for something to drink while sitting at the computer. And they are much healthier than coffee! I've been drinking tomato juice for two days and I already feel better! Besides, the warmer it is, the less coffee you want, so it's really not difficult to get such a name!

2 dried fruit for sweets!
I like sweets. All in all, I really liked them during my pregnancy and now they really improve my mood. I don't want to take them off completely. I just want to always have sweet delicacies at hand. At home we really like dried plums, nuts and dates. They satisfy the need for snacking in a healthy way, and their sweetness perfectly replaces chocolate. And they regulate digestive processes!

3. More exercise!
For some time now I haven't been able to bring myself to buy a new fitness membership, but I run every few days. I decided to spend the money for the season ticket on some better running shoes than sneakers and go out for a run every other day for at least half an hour in the evening. It's not much, but how much energy it adds. How many ideas come to my mind when I stop moving! And that warm wind in your hair! This is a very good change!

You can see that these changes are no big deal, but can actually improve your mood and fitness!

So what will it be like? Are you starting your little 3 shifts? We need to welcome this spring somehow!

Starring: Sylveco Soothing body balm

Slim, feminine, with an artistic soul from this era. That's what he is like. Our star today - a soothing body balm from a brand that is winning our hearts and the domestic market - Sylveco.

Recently, my bathroom has been full of Sylveco cosmetics. And let me tell you, I'm very happy about it. Mark has already stolen my heart. Its offer includes really good cosmetics with friendly compositions, based on herbal extracts. Its positioning is very herbal with a retro tint. In a style that I really like - referring to nature, with delicate illustrations referring to old engravings, but presented in an aesthetic, clear, modern way. Such a marriage of tradition and modernity. A response to the needs of women of basically all ages, because I believe that both teenagers and their mothers and grandmothers will fall in love with these cosmetics. If we add effectiveness, safety, pleasure of use and reasonable prices, I predict a fruitful future for Sylveco. Especially since I also really like the idea of brand marketing, politeness, commitment and openness to ideas. New, surprising products are regularly added to the offer. Distribution works well because cosmetics are becoming easier to obtain. I will be happy to follow Sylveco's further development.
I will also tell you in secret that I invited Sylveco to participate in this year's edition of the Spring Lili Plebiscite for the best natural cosmetics and I will have as many as 10 sets of the brand's new products for you! But for now, shhh... :)
In the meantime, let's give a voice to our star. The soothing balm surprised me very much. The label says "soothes irritations, protects the skin from drying out, restores elasticity. Herbal care - common yarrow, white birch, peppermint." However, there is no noticeable scent anywhere - although it is actually mentioned in the description. So when I first grabbed the balm, for a moment I thought I had confused it with toothpaste. For a very short while. It turned out that it had a mint scent! I wouldn't have guessed. And I must admit that it is quite a pleasant scent. Peppermint oil has a refreshing effect and improves mental clarity. Perfect after a morning shower!
I read on Facebook that the balm is difficult to absorb. I haven't noticed any similar problems myself. At least no departures from other natural balms I like. It doesn't penetrate the skin quickly, but it doesn't stay there for very long either. Most importantly, however - it soothes! Really soothing! Soothes, regenerates, moisturizes. This is due to grape seed oil, glycerin, aloe extracts, birch bark (betulin) and yarrow. Mint causes a feeling of gentle coolness on the skin, has analgesic, antiseptic and regulating properties.
Its strong point is also the packaging. I really don't understand why this is the first balm with a pump that I have. It's just comfy! You don't need to open or unscrew anything. I pass by the bathroom and quickly go in, press and massage it into my hands. Everything is hygienic and simple. Capacity 300ml - just right. The label stays in place. I don't see any flaws :)

Coffee-cocoa-vanilla massage bar

I have one of my most enjoyable recipes for you today! The idea is simple, even banal, and the effect is stunning! Today, my dears, we will make a coffee-cocoa-vanilla massage bar . Composition? The simplest possible! Smell? Insane! Application? Fabulous!
Our cube contains aromatic, real coffee beans. And it's organic, from Ethiopia. Why do we need them here? Yes, just for massaging. The cube is the perfect size to hold in a lightly squeezed hand and massage your loved one with it. At the same time, under the influence of the warmth of the skin, the butter gently melts, which serves not only as a lubricant during the massage, but also as a soothing balm, a nourishing, caring compress for the tired body.
There is no philosophy in the cube and that is where its strength lies. I only made it with cocoa butter, coffee butter and vanilla butter. Each one is already wonderful. It envelops each one individually with its wonderful scent. Together they make a perfect trio. Delicious, warm, deeply relaxing, and at the same time adding positive energy and zest for life. Simply put - they pamper you!

To make the cube, prepare:
  • coffee beans (mine from Etno Cafe - I highly recommend it because it's delicious)
  • 4 tablespoons of cocoa butter (I used lozenges, but you can also use crushed ones) (from Blisko Natury )
  • 1.5 tablespoons of coffee butter (also Close to Nature )
  • 1.5 tablespoons of vanilla butter (and again from Blisko Natury )
  • mold - I used a small plastic one from ladybug sorbets
Pour coffee beans into the bottom of the mold so that they cover the entire surface. Melt the fats in a water bath or in the microwave, stirring occasionally. When they take the form of oil, pour them into the mold. The grains will float to the top and stay there. Put the prepared container in a cool place to cool, then put it in the fridge to harden. Before removing the cube, it is worth putting it in the freezer for a quarter of an hour. It will then come out of the mold easily.
Store the cube in a cool place or refrigerator. To perform a massage, hold it firmly in your hand and make slow massaging movements over your loved one's body. The butter will begin to melt gently. When you feel that the skin is sufficiently lubricated and the glide is good, put the bar aside and finish the massage with your hands. The coffee beans will eventually start falling off, especially from the sides. Just put them on a saucer during the massage. The cube will be enough for many massages - it all depends on how long they will be!

Plate mandalas! Wonderful! I love such colorful combinations of patterns that at first glance do not match each other, but in fact work perfectly together. I could keep such porcelain wonders at home! Lulaland mandalas (1) - Lula Aldunate .
A wonderful berry-dyed board (2) from Littlewood . It may fade, but the effect is great!
Today we have a colorful day! Because metal shelves are so great! Out of the need for beauty (3) .
Beautiful ceramics with gold decorations. I would put these succulents all over my house! The object enthusiast (4) .
Unfortunately, I don't know much about high fashion. Sometimes I just pay attention to photos of unusual clothes. And so recently my eye was caught by Elie Saab ( 5 ) and his amazing dresses. I think I like everything here! From the selected ones: osephine Le Tutour in ELIE SAAB Haute Couture Autumn Winter 2013-14 photos by Steven Pan for Flair #8 and  Julia Frauche in ELIE SAAB Ready-to-wear Spring Summer 2104 photos by Camilla Akrans for Porter Magazine.
Crystal lamps. Lamps-precious stones. Wonderful! Design by Arik Levy for Lasvit via Toildrop (6) .
I was enchanted by the ideas for a children's room from Minimetry ( 7 ). Especially this pouffe and the picture! And this sentence: "The Minimetry company is dedicated to making children happy" :)
Spring essenntials by Jones Design Company ( 8 ). More importantly - downloadable and printable!
And one more word! Miracles were supposed to be more wonderful, with instructions, videos, etc. However, there has been too much going on lately. I'm working on several projects that I hope to show you soon, so I don't have time to follow the Internet as closely as I would like... I hope the above photos will satisfy you!
Have a wonderful week!

Infatuated: Cubbylove

Sometimes I come across small, amazing shops that charm me from the first moment. They may not have a wide range, but each of the products they offer shows passion, joy, smiles and love for what they do. Cubbylove is one such shop. Not with us. Far away in Australia. But he is a huge inspiration to me. Each of these wonderful unusual things available here is unique, handmade and creative. It adds positive energy and color. I would happily adopt any of them. And I would try to make each one myself. Maybe someday...

In the meantime, I invite you to my new infatuation and a little wander around Cubbylove !
